der land zwish ther bergen the land between the mountains This is the site about berglandia and the bergish language & culture. Berglandia is the lands of the bergish people, which includes bergland, the nine outer cantons, and all other bergish settled lands.
Bergland is the original settled area of the bergish culture and its sovereign republic, established in 1763. It has two cities and three towns, situated in a relatively small, alpine valley. The borders of bergland extend primarily along the bordering mountain ridges that encompass the river valley and a small lake. The southern border of bergland extends about 100 feet from the south bordering wall of the valley, called sudmauer. The river valley contains five streams and a small river, berg, which flows southwest from the bergish lake, nordlak. The outer cantons of berglandia are located in Europe, Asia, the Pacific, and the Americas. The establishment of the outer cantons spans about 100 years, with the first canton in the Middle East in 1842; and the ninth in Patagonia in 1940. Berglandia today has approximately 12,100 bergish people, of which about 3,400 are berglanders and 5,300 dwell in the outer cantons. ![]() |
